I heard on a consumer program that water heaters built in l993-96 had a faulty dip tube in them that caused problems. In our house, if someone is using the hot water for one bath, the shower at the other end of the house only gets cold water. Ive heard this could be from the dip tube situation. Where do I go to find out what makes and models had this faulty dip tube and where do I go to find out about the class action suit?

I havent heard of a suit. Most manufacturers have info about dip tube problems and repairs on their web sites. Like: http://www.bradfordwhite.com/diptube.html and http://rheem.com/technical/DipTubeIndex.html

We had the same problem. Ours was a Rheem water heater and I went to their website and found an 800 number to call for free service. We had the dip tube replaced today and all is well!!!!: I heard on a consumer program that water heaters built in l993-96 had a faulty dip tube in them that caused problems. : In our house, if someone is using the hot water for one bath, the shower at the other end of the house only gets cold water. : Ive heard this could be from the dip tube situation.
