I have a Strong mildew odor coming from double sink in my kitchen. I have tried various methods to overcome it,(vinegar, baking soda,&washing soda followed by hot water after letting it work awhile;also ice cubes, lemon peels, etc..)It helps temporarily, at best. It fills the whole area and I can’t figure it out. I have a septic system; don’t know whether that is related at all.I notice a post from Heather in June of 1999 with the same problem, but cannot find a reply to her question. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

You may have a plugged vent pipe. Go outside and look at the roof for a pipe about 2″ in diameter, above or near the kitchen. You will need to get on the roof clean out any leaves, pine needles, bird’s nest etc., and then run a garden hose down the vent pipe with a high pressure nozzle.
