Reset Button on Garbage Disposer

I left my Garbage Disposer running and forgot to turn it off. It shut off by itself. After it cooled down, I mashed the Reset Button but the button went in completely and wont come out through the opening.The Garbage Disposer does not run nor is there any sound when I turn it on. Thanks.

I seem to remember seeing a few disposals that did what you described…But I cant remember if they worked okay or required replacement??? If your disposal plugs in under the sink, plug a light or something in that recepticle to make sure a circuit breaker didnt trip in your circuit breaker box. If you have electricity there, and the disposal still makes no sound, it probably needs replacement.
