I have three Moen brass plated sink drains and collars that I would like to replace (all the shine scoured off). How do you get the collar off and the drain stoppers out? many thanks. Morgan

To remove the stopper, unscrew the nut that holds its actuating rod in place under the sink, then pull the stopper out. To complete the disassembly, loosen the big nut that is up against the bottom of the drain outlet, push the drain assembly up a little and unscrew the collar. Then the pop-up assembly can be removed.
