      I think that something fell into my garbage disposal as it was working fine and then suddenly quit. Makes a motor type noise, like it is trying to work, but work start up. The object MAY have been a plasic bottom cap. Not really sure what happened. I tried pushing the reset button but it did not help. What can I do?

      Unplug it. Look with a flashlight and remove the object. You might have to turn it in both directions to free the object, use a wooden spoon or something similar to turn the mechanism. Plug it back in. Push reset button if it no longer hums.
