we have a house that we only go to about once a month and every time we show up the hot water stinks. We have a water softener but I have by-passed it and it doesen’t help. I have read the other posts about the annode rod in the bottom of the water heater. Is this the only cure to remove this and void my warranty or can you by a filter of some sort? Thanks Bruce

Get your water tested for H2S content then you will know if it’s the heater or your well water.Respectfully David F. Walling
