We live in a house that is less than one year old. It has an 80 gallon Vaughn Hydrastone Lined Electric Water Heater that is located in the garage. We have a bath and kitchen on the first floor and two baths on the second. Our problem is that we have to turn the hot water on all the way for 30 to 45 seconds before the water becomes hot. Obviously we waste gallons and gallons of water waiting for the hot water. Once it becomes hot, we haven’t had a problem with running out. Is the problem with the heater, the plumbing, or something else? And, what alternatives do we have to fix our problem.

        Thanks,

        Joe
