The main burner must come on for the furnace to warm the house. Does it? If not, the most simple problem would be that the gas valve is still in the Pilot position and needs to be turned to the ON position. Hope that helps.
Question:Does the main burner (pilot) come on when it is instructed by the thermostat, or is it continuously on?I have been unsuccessful in getting my heating unit to work, normally when turning up the thermostat, the unit would come and and the air would circulate. Now, nothing happens, sometimes I only hear one click.Any suggestions?
Chris, You have put your question below Terrys so not as many people will see it. Repost if I dont help you. Some furnaces have electronic devices to light the main burner, they do not use a standing pilot like Terry apparently has. I dont know what kind of furnace you have. If you have a standing pilot, read the directions on the furnace, and light it. Then dont forget to turn the gas valve from the Pilot position to the ON position. Good luck.
