We have two showers in our house. both on the 2nd floor. The master bath shower never seems to get warm enough. The other bathroom’s shower is wonderful…nice and hot. How can I fix the shower in the master bath to be just as hot as the other one? Does it have something to do with the faucet? Are they calibrated for temperature somehow?

Newer shower valves are sometimes equiped with a pressure balancing mechanism and a feature called “Scald guard”. Without knowing what valve you have I can only guess that the scald guard feature is the culprit. Feel free to email me with the make and model, and I’ll try to help. Most Plumbers know how to set the max temp higher for you if you don’t feel confident taking your valve apart.
