I need to get the old metal drain out a clawfoot tub. (I have purchased new replacement hardware.) There are threads showing on the bottom side of the old drain but I am not sure how these drains are held in place. Should I just turn the tub up on end and beat the old drain up and out with a hammer? Im afraid Ill damage the drain area if I do this. Or is there a better way? Please hurry with your response because the remodeling project is soon to be at a standstill if I dont get this figured out. Thanks!
