Our shower faucet is mounted over a 5″ 8″ hole in the ceramic tile wall which is framed to hold the weight of this huge thing. I described it to Moen who said it was “The Monique.” A search of faucet companies shows the average cut-out for an escutcheon is about 5 – 6″ round and there appears nothing will fit this large hole and the faucet needs to be replaced badly. Does anyone know how one goes about installing a new shower faucet with a large hole to cover?

You may need to fill in behind the shower with drywall and then tile to the 5″-6″ hole on other side. You may need to take some tile off and also some drywall to the studs and sort of start over in a the area around where the new faucet will go..I hope you can match the tile back with the right color but you don’t have much choice since this is a tile wall.
