My dishwasher is draining through the overflow outlet on my kitchen sink. I’ve looked under the sink but haven’t been able to see a problem. I have assumed that the normal outlet for this water is plugged, but I don’t know where/how to find it. Please help!

you have a 5/8 hose coming off of your dishwasher and connecting to your airgap. then there is a 7/8 hose coming off of the air gap that connects to the disposal or its own drain. the 7/8 hose or the disposal connection has a food blockage. just remove the hose and check.
