I have a 50 gallon electric hot water heater that seems to have leaked from the bottom. The leakage looked rusty as well. Everything still seems to be working fine. Is it time to replace or should I attempt to have repaired. It’s about ten years old. Thank you. Danny

If water was leking it is just a matter of time when it will do it again.Sometimes small holes will seal themselves temporarily with lime or scale but this will eventually will not hold for to long. There is no fixing a tank that is leaking unless it is something other than the tank it self.Look over area real well to see if water is coming from something else on or around heater. If it is the heater itself it will need replaced.10 yrs. is pretty good to last that long these days. They don’t make em like they used too.Hope this helps.
