could water low in pH cause copper pipes to erode to the point it is showing up as a film on top of the water? Currently having testing done, but it has been determined there is a great deal of copper in my drinking water! house is only 10 years old, pipes may be 20 years old.

j.l.:–The pH of your water is one of many causes or contributing factors leading to copper leaching into the water or causing pin hole leak problems. Disolved minerals and gasses can also be a big problem with internal pipe corrosion. The site below may answer some of your questions on this subject.
