We have a State Electric Hot water heater M/N SB6-120-45-SFE S/n K98091290 at our business. It recently had all 9 elements replaced an now it keeps tripping the hi-limit temp switch on 6 of the 9. Each element has it’s own thermostat and hi-limit switch. I turned the thermostats down all the way wtith no effect. The tanks heats up overnite, when there is no demand, gets too hot and trips the switches. What is the next plan of attack?

First check the elements to make sure none have shorted out to bypass the thermostat. Then find out which thermostat is stuck and not functioning.
