: does anyone know how to use a hot water boiler for heating to use as a domestic water heater that does not have an internal water heating coilContact your local LICENSED MASTER PLUMBER tell him/her you want an X Trol tank installed for an indirect hot water source and have them pipe it in as a seperate zone with its own aqua stat and pressure relief valve piped to a safe place. Now for the bad news. This system has although if properly desgned will give you unlimited hot water BUT during the non heating months you still will be heating this boiler just for domestic hot water and you may have to install a very god quality mixing valve (tempering) to prevent scalding. Depending on the age and efficiency of your boiler if this system pays. Good Luck Sylvan

You will have to install an external heat exchanger, but unless the boiler is oversized, or a storage tank is also installed, the additional load may reduce the heating capacity substantially. Temperature control is also very critical and can be expensive, especially when installing safeguards to prevent scalding.: does anyone know how to use a hot water boiler for heating to use as a domestic water heater that does not have an internal water heating coil
