: how do you adjust the float in the toilet tankit would depend on the type of float you have. if it is a ball-cock type, it will look like a large black or white balloon on the end of a metal rod. if this is the case, bend the rod down to let less water into the tank, and bend less to let the tank fill up more. there should be a water level line at the back of the tank inside to let you know where the fill level should be. if you have a plastic flush master type, the ball will be on top of the plastic assembly on the left hand side of the tank. if you twist the whole assembly, counter clockwise, it will raise it higher, the optimum height is about 1 above the fill tube, the tube the is in the center of the tank. you may need to drain the tank and loosen the nut under the tank on the left side to allow the assembly to move. grasp the bottem of the assembly, and turn the top part right or left to raise or lower it. the lower it is, the less water goes in, and vise-versa. good luck!

Not sure who told you how to adjust a ballcock valve but if you try bending the rod you will damage the ballcock due to the force your applying. There should be screws on the top of the ballcock valve you can adjust to acomplish the same thing without damaging it. : : how do you adjust the float in the toilet tank: it would depend on the type of float you have. if it is a ball-cock type, it will look like a large black or white balloon on the end of a metal rod. if this is the case, bend the rod down to let less water into the tank, and bend less to let the tank fill up more. there should be a water level line at the back of the tank inside to let you know where the fill level should be. if you have a plastic flush master type, the ball will be on top of the plastic assembly on the left hand side of the tank. if you twist the whole assembly, counter clockwise, it will raise it higher, the optimum height is about 1 above the fill tube, the tube the is in the center of the tank. you may need to drain the tank and loosen the nut under the tank on the left side to allow the assembly to move. grasp the bottem of the assembly, and turn the top part right or left to raise or lower it. the lower it is, the less water goes in, and vise-versa. good luck!
