I have a log cabin that has been renovated. One of the features it doesnt have is a dishwasher. Part of the reason was due to a lack of places to put one. The area it makes any sense in is a row of cabinets/counter top. The counter is 32 high due to a very wide window that is set at that height – it spans over 1/2 of the counter. By removing one of the cabinets, the dishwasher would fit beautifully. However, there would still be two inches that tower the counter top surface…..which is tile and grout. Asthetically speaking, I dont much care, conveniently speaking – I want the dishwasher. Then there is the concern about plumbing. There is a crawl space under this area that will allow for under the floor plumbing – which is how the sink is done, which happens to be along a different wall. Would it be fairly simple to tap into that plumbing system and install the dishwasher – topped with say a butcher block top that has a lip to come down to meet the tile top, or is this just a pipe dream? I just cant believe it cant be done – I just cant find anyone that can do both pieces of this project!!! Stuck with dirty dishes in Orange County, New York!
