The water heater I have is a 52 gallon, 240 volt. The heater is 3 years old and it has a 5 year tank warranty and a 1 year parts warranty. It has a switch that allows you to set the water temperature, Example “A, B, and C”. It has been set on A for 3 years and we’ve never had a problem. Now after 5 minutes, we have no hot water. I switched the temperature level to B and it helped a little, but something is obviously wrong. What could be happing here? Maybe a bad element? Please help!

Yes, I would say that it is probably an element. Disconnect power, remove wires from element terminal and use a continuity tester to see if its OPEN (no current flow thru element).
