        The plumer that installed my kitchen drain 8 years ago did not installed with drain trap in other words the drain pipe goes strait down to the main drain under the house, my question is that it has to have the trap (the s loop). and the otrer question is what is the advantage in having the trap.

          The TRAP is to TRAP (prevent) Foul sewer fumes/gases from entering the building
