My plumbing is really backed up. i have a drain for my washer in the basement that runs to the main pipe. every time i run water up stairs it is backing up. i think the main pipe is clogged in the street. who do i call or what should i try. please mail me at shader22aol.com im desperate

you have to determine where the drainage is plugged to determine whos responsible. You say that the upstairs is draining through the washer drain downstairs, are there any other fixtures? There is usually a clean-out where the plumbing enters the house. See if it is clear to that point.
