You also have to specify how many tubes each section has, or the depth of the radiator.: i have some steam radiaters that i would like to replace with baseboard units the staem radiators are 4ft long by2 ft high how many feet of baseboard heating will i nedd to replace the radiators with and approx the cost there are 2 radiaters that i would like to replace thanks very much for any help you could lend

The coefficient of expansion is very different and the heat calculations would be completly thrown off. If your hell bend on replacing good ole Cast Iron radiators then measure lenth ,with height and count the tubes. Then go to a good plumbing supply and ask them to size this in CAST IRON BASE BOARD not copper. It is a lousy Idea to mix heating piping especially in a steam system. Good luck Sylvan
