Michele: This is really pretty simple stuff. First you must isolate stoppage. Remove trap and place bucket under sink, if water drains from sink to bucket the stoppage is further. Examine trap & elbow, if they are clear the stoppage is further. With a hose run water into drain in wall until water backs up. Look directly into pipe with a flashlight, see the water standing which cannot drain out? Stoppage is further. Now slowly feed snake into pipe, forward & reverse, until you feel resistance. Firmly work snake thru hard spot until snake again feeds in freely. Watch water level with flashlite and listen for water to drop. You can usually feel stoppage release and, at that exact moment, hear the water drain out. Mark the distance on your snake with a piece of tape then remove snake from drain. Clean all hair & gunk from snake and repeat entire procedure a 2nd time flushing with water once snake is in to the tape mark. When youre satisfied drain is free-flowing reassemble p-trap and clean up the mess!!If the procedure described is beyond your capabilities call a drain cleaning company. The average b/sink stoppage should take one experienced serviceman less than 1/2 hr start to finish and we charge $40 for entire job. Good luck, Lane.: Hi,i need some help with my bathroom sink.It keeps clogging up, I have tried the drano and stuff, checked the p-trap and its clear, put a snake into the pipe from the wall and it seems nothing is blocking it but there still is a clog.I can only run the water for about 1 minute and then its clogged up.I cant figure it out so if anyone has any answers I would really appriciate your help.
