ParticipantDepending on the product, some are better than others. Its just fine to use PVC (white plastic pipes) for drains – they will just be a little noisier. As for supply lines, are they clear wiht a criss-cross mesh of fibers in it? This has been tested for many years, and although some doubt it, I like it and it has a good track record.

ParticipantIf it is white or clear with criss cross threads, it is as good as plastic gets. If it is gray, then she has a problem. the advantages of plastic is that it is cheap and the installers do not have to have any experience. The disadvantages are that sometimes it ages and breaks.: my mom is looking at a condo in williamsburg, va. This is new construction.
