I have a Reliance 501 electric hot water heater (about 9 years old) that I need to reset almost every day, and it always heats to the highest temp. Ive adjusted the themostat below the reset button but that doesnt seem to regulate the temp. Is it possible that that unit/thermostat is bad and is it possible to replace just the thermostat? Thanks!
