update on stinking toilet

After reading the advices posted here(many thanks to Blm and Wayne V.), I checked on the base of the toilet and discovered part of the problem. Apparently, whoever installed the toilet did a poor job at sealing the base with caulk, leaving small gaps around the base. When I knelt down to check the base, I could smell a breeze of sewer smell leaking through those gaps, I almost puked. Anyways, I re-sealed the entire base and even the bolt caps on top of the base with new caulk and the smell of sewer is gone. I cant believe the plumber didnt catch this problem. Of course, the main problem of the defective wax ring still remains…
