I have a really odd problem. Ever since weve moved into our current house, weve had problems with the washing machine discharge pipe backing up and overflowing. BUT..the catch is..it ONLY happens if I wash in HOT water. Cold and warm drain no problem. But anytime I wash in Hot…the water backs up and goes everywhere! I am clueless as to what is causing this. ANY ideas? Thanks Stefanie

Might have flannette (cotton has a tendancy to fluff up more when hot) in the waste pipe, see if you can remove any minor blockages
