I currently have one 30 gallon gas heater that is not big enough for the family. It is in good condition and seems a waste to replace it with a bigger one. Can I install a second smaller tank and have them in line? Could I have one for some parts of the house and one for other sections? Hate to toss a good heater that is just too small.
Why not? But go for a 40 gallon as an add-on, as your 30 will no doubt die first. Make sure the venting and gasline is sized correctly, ie. call a plumber, and have him pipe it as the link below says…..Lou
