Can anyone tell us are there codes allowing water and sewer lines to be seperated or can they be run in the same trench? With water under a sewer line?

You will have to check with the city code department. It depends on the pipe materials in many cases. And the water line often has to be installed on a ledge 12 above the sewer. Each city has its own requirements. : Can anyone tell us are there codes allowing water and sewer lines to be seperated or can they be run in the same trench? With water under a sewer line?

pretty much the same in the W.N.Y. area. But in no case can a water line be below a sewer in the same trench.
