What is a good remedy or treatment for roots in the sewer pipes. Something we can do ourselves.

I think what Sylvan is trying to tell you is there is very little you can do with this root growth. The permanent remedy is to locate root growth then dig up and repair pipe. Treatment would be to periodically clean out the pipe using a large snake/cable. Depending on access and distance a drain company might charge $50 plus to do job professionally. There are also umpteen root killing products available for purchase altho their claims of success far, far, far exceed any realistic results. If you dont want to repair pipe, find a fair, dependable, local drain cleaning company and ask them to clean out roots on a scheduled maintenence basis (every 3, 4, 6, 10 months) and resign yourselves to that. Problem will not go away and , in fact, will slowly get worse. Good luck, Lane.: What is a good remedy or treatment for roots in the sewer pipes. Something we can do ourselves. :
