My house is pretty old, probably built between 1940 and 1960, the hot water pressure in the kitchen and bathroom sink is fine, but the hot water in shower drips out. I took the shower head off and attemtped to clean it, and then I turned the water on with the shower head off, and the water still drips. To turn the shower on the stopper on the tub faucet must be pulled up, but water drips from there and the shower head, as if the stopper is not pulling all the way up. Please advise ASAP.

Check for wear on diverter gate and check for an obstruction in shower supply tube.
