Im seeking Advice on French Drains for a yard.I have a side yard with a slight grade. Over 22 it drops about 3 or 4. I want to get the water away from the house. I graded land away from house and down the slope. Would like to tie the two downspouts into the ground with 4 flex pipe and lead it away from the house and down the hill.My thinking is to lay the non-perferated flex pipe in a ditch filled with stone, which will also act like a french drain for runoff. How do you build a french drain? How deep & wide? What size stone? Do you use perforated pipe or just stone? Do you put perf pipe in for the french drain and solid in for the downspouts? Can I run my downspout pipe in the same ditch?Id appreciate any input you might have.
