I need to replace a toilet with a 14 inch rough in. Is there any problem using the standard toilets with 12 inch rough in, or am I better off getting one with a 14 inch rough in, or one that can be adapted. I’m getting conflicting advice. Thanks for any help.
you can use a 12″ rough toilet you will just have 2″ of space behind the toilet,so dont lean back on the toilet with a lot of force or the tank may break off. you may also call a plumber to move the flange back 2″ . hope this helps
Linda, your better off getting a 14″ rough rather then having a 2″ space behind your tank. And you certainly dont want to use an offset floor flange if you have a choice.
