I am remodeling our kitchen. I am adding a dishwasher, garbage disposer and a two basin sink. Previously the kitchen only had a single basin sink. The current drain pump under the old sink is chrome plated brass (polished chrome-plated pipes). I bought a garbage disposer installation kit for a two basin sink at a local home store. The kit consists of a bunch of different 1.5 inch outer diameter white plastic tubes (elbows, drain trap, flanged tail pieces, etc.). I am presuming that these are PVC, but it does not say in the packaging. Is it possible to attach these plastic pipes to the existing chrome plated brass pipe? If so Do I need special adaptors? The existing pipe exits through the floor and I will need to cut it about 3 inches above the floor to accomadate the disposer as it will sit directly above the pipe. This also means that the brass pipe will have no threads on it.Thanks a lot in advance
