We just completed installing a tub in our basement, and after testing, find a steady drip from the drain…how do we fix it? We used plumber’s putty initially; is there something better we can use?
Most tub drains come with a rubber gasket that goes under the tub and seals the drain to the tub when you screw the pieces together. The plumbers putty goes on the inside, under the lip of the piece you are screwing in. After screwing everything together, remove the excess plumbers putty that squeezed out.
