When we run hot water, the drain in the kitchen smells. It is not a rotten egg smell, but a earthy woodsy smell. I’ve tried pouring bleach and vinegar as well as liquid plumber, but it isn’t working. Any thoughts?

I used to have rental property that had that smell. Sounds like you might have roots somwhere in your drain line. Try some root killer that is made for pouring down your sinks. Do you have any problems with backing up or slow drains as well. Any way just a thought call your local plumber they will know.

Thanks for the information. Luckily we haven’t had any problems with backing up, the water runs freely. Will try the root stuff.
