Jane: Most bathtub faucets are threaded directly onto water supply line coming out of wall. Wrap a rag around the faucet to protect metal and grab faucet with a large pair of channellock pliers. The faucet should unscrew in a counter-clockwise direction the same as any nut or bolt.s: How do I unscrew a tub faucet to replace it. : I cant see a set screw??

There are several ways that handles are attached. Some have set screws on the side of the handle, others have caps that pop off or unscrew with the handles screw underneath, and still other handles pull off. You have to know the make and model of faucet before we can advise as to how to get access.: How do I unscrew a tub faucet to replace it. : I cant see a set screw??
