New Screen for well

I have clients that made an offer on a home & on the sellers disclosure that the seller filled out, the seller said he had a new well on month ago. Come to find out, he didnt put in a new well only a new screen. At this point we can only assum it is an older 2 well because the pump is in the basement not at the bottom of the well & no pipe sticking up in the yard showing at what point the well goes in the ground. Could this well potentially service this home for a few years or is this a band-aid fix to sell the home.
