I have a hot water baseboard system supplied by an outside furnace. I recently acquired a couple of old cast iron steam radiators and would like to know if these can be converted to hot water and if so how this is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As long as you can get the water in one side and out the other, the radiator can be used for hot water. A tapping at the side top plug for a manual air vent will help to bleed the air from the radiator.
If only one bottom side plug of the radiator is available, the radiator can still be used by concentric piping. There are a few tricks to make the radiator usable.
