I have a Thorn EMI Apollo C/H Boiler. It is 12-14 years old. It works fine for about 50 minutes but then will cut the pump while the boiler is still fired (v. strange). Needless to say it will then bang, clank and cut out. It will continue to do this until turned off and allowed to cool off for a couple of hours. Any ideas what might be wrong? There is no airlock.

Use a voltmeter to check to see if power is still being supplied to the pump after it cuts out. If you still have power you will need to replace the pump. If no power then you should probably call a licensed professional to trouble shoot the electrical side of the boiler. Hope this helps…..Lou
