        We had a plumber come out to look at a hotwater that is triping its internal breaker. He thought it was faulty and replaced it. 3 hours later it triper again. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Any ideas on what the problem might be?Did he check the lower thermostat too? It could be the problem. When the upper thermostat reaches the shut off temperature it feeds electricity to the lower thermostat. If the lower thermostat is stuck closed then the water will keep getting hotter until the breaker trips. You can find useful information about water heaters on my website.
