We were digging for an above ground pool and scraped the top a lateral we didnt know about. Can I cover up the gravel with 6 of dirt (clay) and still put the pool on top of the drain field?

Mark, I would not suggest you put the pool over the drain area. Depending on your system, usually the water needs to evaporate from the surface. Placing the pool on unstable or refilled ground could destabalise the pool. I have seen the effects of an above ground pool collapsing, sheds, fences, and other items destroyed. It could collapse with you or family in it . Look at a more suitable position on virgin or stable soil. If no other spot available get in good with your neighbours and swim in theirs.
