Our house is going to be vacant for 6-9 months. The water and gas will be shut off. Should we drain the water heater before leaving?

To Heather: No do not drain the water heater. If you do you will introduce air into the tank and speed up the process of corosion. Turn your main valve off, and your gas water heater to minimum. Do not drain your water heater.Mark Tiernan Tiernan Bros.Plbg. Gary In.
