I have a water heater thet is 16+ years old and bad. I want to replace it, but how do I get the tank to drain once it is disconnected? There is a connection for a hose, but no valve to open it. Am I missing something? Please help.

The hose connection is the valve. After you connect the hose, turn the big ring counterclockwise to open the valve. Turn it on before you turn the water off to the heater to flush out the initial debris, otherwise the water may not flow out of the heater.: I have a water heater thet is 16+ years old and bad.
