My gas water heater when set to the hottest setting gives me water that is 125 F. Is there any way to manually tweak the thermostat so that the hotest setting is higher?
Also, does anyone have an opinion or experience with the tankless heaters? They sound like a good idea. Any tips would be appreciated

The answer to the question is no, at least to do it safely. The next question is whether the burner ever turns off. If not, then you should be looking for a hot water leak, especially if you have a concrete slab floor.
