I have a 50 gallon gas water heater thats only 5 years old. We can only run straight hot water for 15 minutes before it gets cold. That seems like a problem to me, but what do the experts say? Thanks in advance.

What in the world are you using 50 gallons of pure hot water for at one time? If you water heater can pump it out for 15 minutes before it gets cold, Id say its doing well! If you need more, you need a bigger tank, or one with a much higher recovery rate.
