Dishes that are cleaned in our 4 month old auto dishwasher have a fishy odor to them. Hot water direct from the tap does not appear to smell. Some time ago we had trouble with tan / light brown colored granules in our (hot only) water lines. It clogged most of our appliances. All lines have been flushed and no granules have been seen in months. We use city water with copper piping. Hot water heater is gas fired. There is no filtering system on our house water.

To David J.: What was the determination of the particles origin? In a situation like yours you use deductive thinking. #1 It is probably not the appliance. #2 Is there a film left on the walls of your auto dishwasher? #3 How long have you lived at residence.( ? for me). #4 Where do you live?Mark Tiernan Bros Plbg.
