I have a standard fiberglass tub. I have been soaking items in tub using bleach & water — the bleach has corroded the drain, which is a pull up type drain. Can I replace the drain unit without having to pull the tub out? Is there a product that I can ‘paint’ on the drain to cover/seal it? Yes, I know now not to use bleach

yes you can replace the tub drain but you will need a special tool to do it.
