Instead of using a snake, are there any other effective ways of clearing a blockage in a sewage line?

Depending on the type of stopage would predicate the type of method used for cleaning.

High pressure water jetting.

Acid or other chemicals

Steam

Sand blasting

Or you can have sylvan talk to the roots. They will get bored and fall asleep, whilst asleep they will relaxe their hold on the pipe and slip down the line to the treatment plant. problem cured.
