Sylvan — Still working on reducing water syphon on toilets where vents are only 1-1/2 to 2 inches wide and winds are strong. The plumber recently installed return bends but we are still losing water in toilets. Does it matter which direction the return bends are installed? Should they be positioned so that the pipe itself blocks the wind?

Also, would love to e-mail you but having trouble finding your address.

Hi Denise, The return bend is nothing more then a 180 degree fitting to prevent vandalism and possible down drafts, there is also a vent cap like the J R Smith 1748 which comes in 11/2″ – 6″ id.

My E mail is located on the bottom of these postings.
